I’m really liking Paolo Nutini these days.. i posted the video for his song “New Shoes” a few days ago and after listening to that song, i downloaded more of his songs… and i’m really liking him now, ESPECIALLY his lyrics cos they’re really simple but oddly creative at the same time hehe

He reminds me of Gavin DeGraw, Al Green, Maroon 5, and maybe just a tiny bit of Wyclef Jean (guitar-wise)… and he writes about his life in a good way, that means not in a soap-opera way, or a britney spears “omg, i’m like, so like, totally overprotected!”..
Here’re some examples.. he’s scottish, so when he moved to London after being signed at the age of 18 (he’s 20 now), he wrote a song expressing his homesickness called “These Streets” which is very cute, he says “these streets.. have too many names for me.. I’m used to Glenfield road and spending my time down in Arkie”..
And in another song tells his story of meeting a 23 year old girl at a bar called Jenny, falling in love with her, and telling her he’s 22.. when in fact he’s just 18 (oo shwaya jaikar maskeen).. he says in the song: “You said you’d marry me if I was 23.. But I’m one that you can’t see if I’m only 18.. Tell me who made these rules.. Obviously not you.. Who are you answering to? Oh, Jenny don’t be hasty.. No, don’t treat me like a baby.. Let me take you where you’ll let me.. Because leaving just upsets me.. Oh, Jenny you are crazy! First I’m perfect, then I’m lazy.. And I was calling you my baby.. Now it sounds like you just left me.. And it kills me so!”
anyways, here’s a live video…
And for some more Paolo, watch his “New Shoes” video that i posted here earlier… and because i always like posting songs for u to download, here’s Paolo singing “Tumbling Down” live, he’s really good singing live, it’s just as good as the recorded songs but he adds a little twist to it…
Enjoy!
